    Bouquet : Series Concept

A folding umbrella with a ura-hogushi-ori that resembles a bouquet of flowers

This umbrella is suitable for both rain and sun and has a double-woven "ura-hogushi-ori" design with a plain front and a floral pattern on the reverse. When you open the umbrella, lovely mimosa-inspired flowers appear, decorating the entire surface like a bouquet. The flowers on the lining are expressed softly like watercolors using a hogushi-ori, and the gentle colors of the glossy outer material combine to give the entire umbrella an elegant look. Mimosa also has many positive flower meanings and images, such as gratitude, love, and friendship, and is a popular flower to give to important people or those who have helped you, as a symbol of happiness. This umbrella is perfect as a bouquet that can be used for a long time, and is also recommended as a gift for a special person.

Rain and sun umbrella UV-cut umbrella

The fabric is water-repellent, water-resistant, and UV-resistant. In addition to being fully functional as an umbrella, this umbrella can also be used as a parasol, making it a versatile umbrella for both rain and shine. The UV protection and shading rates vary slightly depending on the color, but all colors have a UV protection rate of over 95%.

    About the fabric

"Koshu-ori" is attractive for its lustrous sheen and solid feel

The fabric used is "Koshu-ori," which is intricately woven in Yamanashi Prefecture, a famous textile production region with a history of over 400 years.
Koshu ori is a "pre-dyed" fabric made by weaving extremely fine yarns that have been dyed beforehand into a high density, uniform weave.

This has resulted in a glossy, deep color and an elegant, heavy texture, and the product still boasts high quality today.
The weaving technique that uses double yarn (twisted yarn) for the warp and single yarn (one thread) for the weft is characteristic of Yamanashi textiles, resulting in a fabric that combines luxury and durability.

The production of Koshu-ori fabric begins at a dyer's shop, where the threads are dyed, then goes through a warper, where the threads are arranged into warp threads, before being sewn into fabric at a weaver's shop.
The fabric is carefully woven over a long period of time, and is then treated to be water-repellent, water-resistant, and UV-resistant, before it can finally be used as an umbrella.
In this way, the fabric that has been made by many people is then cut and sewn by craftsmen to make into umbrellas.

    The traditional Koshu-ori technique "Hogushiori-ori"

The temporarily woven warp threads are dyed one by one with a printing stencil, and the colors are carefully layered and dyed.
The weaving technique in which a weft thread is set on a narrow shuttle loom and used to weave the fabric is called "hogushi-ori."
When the actual weaving begins, the temporary weft threads are removed and the threads are loosened by hand while weaving.
A distinctive feature of this technique is that the dyed patterns are subtly shifted, making them look like watercolor paintings.
Enjoy the warm and soft look that is different from prints.

In addition, narrow shuttle looms are extremely rare, and the weft thread is woven by beating it in with a shuttle and then folded back, which results in selvedge on the edges of the fabric.
Since there is no need to sew a large piece of fabric to fit the width of the umbrella, there are no perforations, so it looks smart and stylish, and another attractive feature is that you don't have to worry about it fraying even if you use it for a long time.

Printed temporary threads and plain threads are woven together in a double layer, creating a "reverse weave"

The warp threads are then doubled over with a printing stencil and plain threads,
and woven with the weft threads to create a single piece of fabric. This is a precious fabric that can only be woven a few metres per day, as the amount of thread is large and the removal of the temporary threads is done carefully so as not to affect the front.
The finished fabric has a plain front and a loose woven design on the lining, making it an umbrella where you can enjoy the difference in design between the front and back.

A different stencil is created for each colour, and the warp threads are printed on the temporary weave with the weft threads. The design is completed by layering each colour. The printing process takes time as the long rolls of fabric are all done by hand.

    About the handle

Light and soft natural rattan handle

It is made of light, soft, and durable rattan. The natural texture of the rattan leaves the wood with its strong fibers intact, so scratches and stains are less noticeable even with long-term use.
The metal fittings are made of nickel with a satin finish (a process that adds fine lines).
Despite its matte texture, you can enjoy its high-quality feel.

    • An umbrella bag that can be used in two ways: for long umbrellas and for folding umbrellas

The umbrella bag that comes with the folding umbrella can be stored in the umbrella bag with the ribs extended like a long umbrella by undoing the button on the back. After using it in the rain, you can tie up the umbrella with the name band attached to the outside and carry it in the umbrella bag without folding it.
Since the umbrella can be stored in the bag immediately even when it is wet, it is environmentally friendly and there is no need to worry about your clothes getting wet.
This is a functional folding umbrella that can be used as a long umbrella on a rainy day and as a folding umbrella on days when it rains intermittently.

The design of the Bouquet umbrella bag is a loose drawstring type, like wrapping a bouquet of flowers.
When you tie the string, it looks cute like a gift, and when you put your hand through the string, it is a great product that allows you to carry the umbrella like a bag.

    • You can carry your umbrella without having to fold it.

This folding umbrella is designed so that the tip of the umbrella fits into a groove in the handle, so you can carry it with the ribs extended.
This eliminates the hassle of having to fold up a wet umbrella, and you can store it away after it dries when you get home.

    • Ribs and center pole

The ribs are made of lightweight and durable fiberglass material. It has a moderate thickness and flexibility, so it is lightweight but strong against wind. It is also a rust-free material, so it is easy to maintain on a daily basis.
