This classic long umbrella is made with parts that can be said to be the origin of Western umbrellas, using a Japanese oak shaft, piano wire spring, buffalo horn ferrule, and steel ribs. It is soft when opening and closing, and the combination with the fabric enhances the high-quality feel.

The part that moves up and down when opening and closing the umbrella is called the "rokuro" and the joint part of the bone is called the "dabo."
The process of protecting each of these parts with the umbrella fabric is called "rokuromaki" and "dabomaki," and each part is carefully attached and covered to protect your hands when opening the umbrella and to prevent damage to the ribs, while also creating a traditional beauty and sense of luxury.
This is an old-fashioned technique that is time-consuming and therefore not seen much these days, but all of Komiya Shoten's long umbrellas are equipped with it.

The ribs are made of steel (iron that has been heat-treated). Steel is heavy compared to other materials, but it is a very strong material. Therefore, it is resistant to wind and has the strength to support the umbrella, so it goes well with fabric and can fully express the beauty of the umbrella's tension.
The center pole is made of domestic oak.
Oak is characterized by its hardness and durability, and beautiful grain, which makes it suitable for use in building wooden ships.

Piano wire is used for the trigger.
It is a traditional material that is smooth to the touch and gentle on your fingers.

The ferrule is made from buffalo horn.
The unique texture and luster of natural materials create a luxurious feel.
