Umbrella types

Western-style umbrellas can be broadly categorized into long umbrellas and folding umbrellas. If you further categorize long umbrellas and folding umbrellas, there are various types. This time, we have summarized the types of umbrellas according to their frame structure in the table below.

In this table, we came up with easy-to-understand names for the types of umbrellas within the company, such as clearly describing what is commonly known as a hook-and-eye type as a "pop-and-loop type," with the aim of allowing everyone to learn about umbrellas.

In addition to the above long umbrellas, there is also the "slide short" type with an extendable pole. (Komiya Shoten does not currently stock this type.) Currently, there are more types of folding umbrellas than long umbrellas, and Western-style umbrellas have also been evolving little by little, such as automatic opening and closing types that open and close automatically, and wind-resistant types that return to their original position even if they become folded into a sake cup.
