Aoi Series
The distinctive feature of the "Aoi" series is that it is the lightest of all the Koshu-woven umbrellas produced by Komiya Shoten!
The fabric used is a single weave made from two-color yarn dyed in a chambray weave.
Because thin threads are woven at a high density, not only is the fabric lighter than other Koshu-woven umbrellas, but the ribs were also carefully selected for their lightness.
The long umbrella is 65cm long and uses eight carbon fiber ribs (which are light and durable), making it weigh just 390g.
This is a new attempt for Komiya Shoten, as we have often used the 16-rib series and classic oak ribs for our 65cm long umbrellas.
The folding umbrella has eight ribs and is 60cm long.
Most 60cm double-fold umbrellas have 10 ribs, but this series has fewer ribs, making it more compact and lightweight. It comes with a stylish umbrella bag and is very easy to carry around, weighing just 290g.
Recently, we have received many comments from customers saying that they wanted a lightweight Koshu-woven umbrella, and our new product, "Aoi," is one we would recommend to anyone looking for such an umbrella.
In addition to being lightweight, we also wanted to make sure that the umbrella was stylish to carry.
As explained above, the fabric of this umbrella is a two-colored woven "chambray" weave, which gives it a glossy look like a jewel beetle depending on the amount of light and the angle.
By weaving a short stripe pattern into the edge, we have added a playful touch to the simplicity, making this a stylish, lightweight umbrella that can be used for both casual and business occasions.

Plaid Series
The "Plaid" series, like the "Tachibana" and "Urajima" series, uses a double-woven fabric with a heavy feel.
The design comes in three colors: plain on the front and checked on the back.
A distinctive feature of this series is that the long umbrellas are 70cm long, the largest among umbrellas made from Koshu weave fabric.
Furthermore, by using carbon fiber for both the ribs and center rod, which boasts strength and lightness, we have overcome the weight that was a challenge with double-weave fabric.
It's big and luxurious, but not too heavy, so it's easy to use!
It also comes with an umbrella bag made of the same fabric, which is not often included with long umbrellas, making it convenient to carry and store.
The folding umbrella is a Komiya Shoten standard, made with 10 ribs and a length of 60 cm.
The 10-rib design is very popular as it is strong and wind-resistant, and provides stability when the umbrella is held up.
The stylish design makes it easy to put in an umbrella bag, making it easy to carry around, and another attractive feature is that the 10-rib type can be changed to curved handles for an additional fee.
