Introducing the new Koshuori "Konomi" series of long and folding umbrellas
This time we would like to introduce Komiya Shoten's new ladies umbrella, "Konomi."
This all-weather umbrella is made from fabric that has been woven using the rare "hogushi weave" technique, which is part of the "Koshu weave" technique woven in Yamanashi Prefecture, a famous textile production region with a history of over 400 years.
In the "hogushi weaving" method, a printing stencil is applied to a temporary weave of warp and weft threads, and the fabric is carefully dyed one color at a time before the final weaving begins.
When the actual weaving is done, the temporary weft threads are removed as the fabric is woven, which causes the dyed patterns to shift slightly, giving the fabric a watercolor look.
You can enjoy the warm and soft texture of the weave, which is different from prints.
The design motif for this "Konomi" is three colored fruits.
The loose weave gives the fruit and leaves an appearance similar to watercolor paintings, creating a soft and warm atmosphere.
The color variations are pink gray, apricot beige, and orange brown.
The color blends well with the skin and can be used all year round.
The Konomi series is a UV-resistant umbrella (umbrella for both rain and shine), so you can use it not only on rainy days but also as a parasol.
It is also recommended as a gift for the coming season or as a Mother's Day gift.
The long umbrella is 60cm and has 8 ribs, and the folding umbrella is 55cm and has 8 ribs. Please take a look at the following.
