Introducing the new "Frog Embroidery Check" rain or shine umbrella

Hello.
We are currently experiencing sunny spells during the rainy season, how are you all doing?
You'll want to have one for the coming season! A new "frog-patterned" umbrella for both rain and shine has been released.

The front is made of natural fabric with an embroidered floral pattern and the back is made of a fine check pattern, and the umbrella is made using a double layer technique called ``kawazuburi.''

Frog-covered umbrellas, which have fabric stretched over the inside of the umbrella so that the ribs are not visible from the inside, were widely used as parasols in Europe before the 19th century.
It was introduced to Japan during the Meiji period, and came to be called "kawazubari" (frog webbed feet) because when viewed from the inside, the way the fabric is stretched resembles a frog's webbed feet.
Nowadays, there are very few umbrella craftsmen who possess this technique, and because it is so time-consuming, it has become an extremely valuable way of stringing umbrellas.

The inside is lined with fabric to hide the ribs, so even people with long hair don't have to worry about it getting tangled in the frame when they hold the umbrella.
Please take a look at our new products, which combine stylish looks with artisanal craftsmanship.
