What is Jacquard Weaving?
Jacquard weaving refers to fabric woven using a jacquard loom, which allows intricate patterns to be woven by controlling the movement of threads. The warp and weft threads are dyed before weaving, creating a fabric with a sophisticated, three-dimensional texture. This method not only enhances delicate designs but also results in a durable fabric with a refined thickness.
Makita Shoten – A Textile Manufacturer Established in 1866
The fabric of "Bloom" is crafted by the long-established textile manufacturer "Makita Shoten" in Yamanashi. Using yarn-dyed threads, vividly colored with melted snow from Mt. Fuji, Makita Shoten applies its expertise in apparel fabric production to create intricate patterns and bold designs. This time, they have woven a high-quality jacquard fabric for this umbrella.
The Making of "Bloom"
The design process began with collecting various flowers and plants. We carefully captured the delicate details of leaves, flowers, and buds. While real flowers are colorful, we designed this umbrella with a refined, understated elegance.
A Matte Yet Elegant and Stylish Jacquard Fabric
Makita Shoten carefully wove this fabric, maximizing the vibrancy of yarn-dyed threads while controlling the gloss on both sides for a subdued sheen. By adjusting the thread colors and the jacquard weave structure, a refined, high-quality fabric was created.

The floral pattern subtly blends with the background, making it a perfect understated fashion accessory. The umbrella is available in two colors: ivory and charcoal, suitable for use in any season.
