Hello.
This is Tagawa from Komiya Shoten.
It's been hot lately, how are you all doing?
This time, we will be talking about our new ladies' all-weather umbrella, "Bengara Dyed."
"Bengara dye" is a dye made from the natural mineral "iron oxide."
The raw material, iron oxide, is red in color, but depending on the heating temperature, it can change into many different colors, producing soft shades.
It is said to have originated in the Bengal region of India during the Edo period, hence the name "Bengara."
Because it is a natural dye, it is said to be gentle on the skin, has insect and mold repellent properties, UV protection, and is resistant to fading.
The dyeing this time was done by the staff at Hirame no Ie, a Type B employment support office.
As each item is dyed by hand by the staff at the facility, taking advantage of their own individual characteristics, there may be some unevenness or variation in the dyeing. However, as part of our SDGs efforts and support activities, we have priced this product a little more affordable than usual.
The fabric is treated with UV protection, water repellency and water resistance.
In addition to being fully functional as a parasol, this umbrella can also be used as an umbrella in the rain.
Made from cotton, it is breathable and not only looks good but also feels cool to wear.
You can choose your favorite design from two patterns: a three-color gradation pattern and a marble-like two-color mixed pattern.
No two pieces have the same dyed pattern, and it is a piece that contains the thoughts of many people.
We have 47cm long umbrellas and 50cm folding umbrellas available.
It is currently on sale at the Higashi Nihonbashi Shop and Rakuten Ichiba Store. Please take a look.
Long umbrella (47cm, 8 ribs)
We combined bengala-dyed fabric, which is kind to both the environment and people, with natural driftwood handles.
In addition to its cute appearance, it is small and lightweight, making it easy to carry around.
This product is no longer available.
Folding umbrella (50cm, 8 ribs)
It is fitted with a 50cm fibreglass frame.
It is larger than a long umbrella, but when folded it is compact and lightweight.
