Interview request from a university student!
With the goal of "industry-academia collaboration," I met with our company president for several hours.
It seems like you've done a lot of research on Komiya Shoten.
Based on our company's initiatives and products,
He listened to me with great interest.
The photo shows President Komiya explaining how umbrellas are made.
The people who came this time were second-year university students, aged 19 or 20.
Apparently he usually uses a plastic umbrella.
Perhaps because of this, when he saw the umbrellas handmade by Japanese craftsmen in the shop, he commented, "This is the first time I've seen an umbrella like this. I'm impressed!"
I was delighted by the enthusiastic and honest opinions of the students,
I was reminded that there are still many people who think of umbrellas as "disposable."
Komiya Shoten's goal is to have our customers use their umbrellas for a long time, rather than disposable.
We intend to continue to work hard to make umbrellas so that this idea can be conveyed to as many people as possible.
I would also be happy if there were more opportunities for people to use umbrellas as part of their fashion.
It was refreshing to hear such honest opinions from university students, who we don't usually have much contact with.
It was also a good opportunity for me to reaffirm my future goals and take another look at the company.
The students will be visiting our company several more times, and we look forward to continuing to exchange meaningful opinions with them!
