A new design has been added to the popular "Frog Embroidery Check"

Hello.
Although it has been raining a lot lately, the cherry blossoms are finally approaching full bloom and we can feel the arrival of spring. How is everyone doing?
A new umbrella with embroidered check pattern and sun/rain lining has been released, which can be used for a long time from spring to early autumn.

This umbrella uses fabric with an embroidered floral pattern on the front and a fine checkered pattern on the back, and is made using the "kawazuburi" technique, a double-layered umbrella construction that hides the ribs.

"Kawazubari," a method of stretching fabric so that the ribs are not visible from the inside, was widely used for parasols in Europe before the 19th century.
It was introduced to Japan during the Meiji period, and came to be called "kawazubari" (frog webbed feet) because when viewed from the inside, the way the fabric is stretched resembles a frog's webbed feet.
Nowadays, there are very few umbrella craftsmen who possess this technique, and because it is so laborious, it is an extremely valuable umbrella.

It is waterproof, so you can use it even in light rain.

The actual product is available at the Higashi-Nihonbashi shop.
Be sure to open and take a look at this beautiful and stylish all-weather umbrella, packed with the charm of "frog-like" fabric that can only be expressed with a long umbrella.
