Introducing the new Sumi-nagashi dyed umbrella for both rain and shine!
This is a dyeing method in which the fabric is placed on the surface of the water to dye it.
It began in the Heian period when a woman from the Imperial Court dropped ink into water.
It is said that "black ink (pain) flows in water."
It has been passed down to the present day as an auspicious design.
This new product, an all-weather umbrella, is made of cotton fabric and has been dyed by traditional craft dye artist Masanori Sonobe!
Each colorful marble pattern is handcrafted, making it a unique piece.
Please enjoy the unique texture and design that is not a print!
