Hello. This is Kimura from Komiya Shoten.
The sweltering heat of midsummer continues every day, but I hope you are all doing well.
Well, this time we will introduce the event currently being held at Tokyu Hands Ginza store.
This is a limited-time event that brings together products made with the SDGs in mind.

The products on display are all exciting and it's hard to believe they were made with the SDGs in mind.
Komiya Shoten is also participating in this fun event.
We sell three items made from Koshu weaving: a mask case, a small accessory case, and a coaster.

The fabric for the Koshu-ori umbrellas we handle is first woven by a weaver in Yamanashi, and then after inspection, it is waterproofed and treated with UV rays.
After that, it arrives at our company and is inspected again, and only those that pass are made into umbrellas.
During this process, scratches will inevitably occur.
Even the slightest scratch means the cloth has to be thrown away, so we wanted to find a way to get rid of this fabric, and that's how we came up with the mask cases and coasters shown here.
Because they are made from damaged fabric, they are reasonably priced, ranging from 550 yen to 1,100 yen.
It is made from Koshu weave fabric, so it has a luxurious feel, a cute design, and is waterproof and UV-resistant, making it extremely functional.
Until now, these products have only been sold at our Higashi-Nihonbashi shop and on Rakuten Ichiba, but for a limited time they are also being sold at Tokyu Hands Ginza, so if you're in the area, please come and take a look.
In addition to our company, the event will feature a large selection of environmentally friendly products, including recycled goods made from discarded coffee grounds and used PET bottles.
The event will be held until around September 2021, so why not visit it this summer?

No matter what kind of product it is, when the background and thoughts behind it are conveyed and the owner feels attached to it and starts to feel the need to cherish it, I think it is no exaggeration to say that from that moment onwards, one is participating in the "SDGs" initiative.
This event will serve as an opportunity for people to learn about things and to cherish them, and we sincerely hope that the accessories born from the umbrella element will become a part of your everyday life and that you will use them with affection.
