Thank you for always using our umbrellas.
This is Oto, in charge of quality control and repairs.
The end of the year is fast approaching, and many people will soon be doing their spring cleaning.
During this spring cleaning season, we would like to talk to you about umbrella maintenance.
You may not often have a chance to take a good look at your umbrella when it's open, but an umbrella that you've been using for a year can get surprisingly dirty.
Especially if you use it in the rain, dirt and dust contained in the raindrops will stick to the umbrella and will remain as dirt if you store it in that state.
The best way to keep your umbrella clean is to remove any dirt with a shower after using it in the rain, but it can be difficult to clean it every time.
We would like you to clean your favorite umbrellas along with your general cleaning six months or once a year.
So, this time we will introduce you to a simple way to care for your umbrella at home.
How to care for your umbrella
①First, lightly rinse the surface of the umbrella with a shower or something similar.
*You can use either water or lukewarm water.
Important points to note when doing this : Do not get the back side wet. Water droplets on the back side can cause rust and odor.
・Do not use detergent as much as possible, as this will remove the water-repellent finish on the surface. Wash off the dirt gently without scrubbing. *If you are concerned about the dirt, we may be able to repair it, so please contact us.
② Dry the umbrella thoroughly in the shade.
Umbrella fabric cannot withstand prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or high heat, so please dry it in the shade.
This alone will improve the water repellency of your umbrella.
If the water repellency has worn off to the point where water droplets stick to the umbrella when you shower, try gently using a hair dryer from a distance.
When heat is applied, the fine hairs on the surface of the umbrella stand up. In fact, these hairs also play an important role in water repellency, but they will flatten out depending on how often you use the umbrella.
Once it has completely dried, spray it with a water repellent spray. (*Please use the spray in a well-ventilated place, wearing a mask, and following the instructions on the spray.)
This completes the maintenance of the umbrella.
We also offer water-repellent treatment for an additional fee, and the results should be pretty much the same with this product.
Please try this out to help you use your favorite umbrella for as long as possible.
