"Furakoko" is a shop in the Nihonbashi area that is particular about craftsmanship
This is Tagawa.
Komiya Shoten's shop is located in the Nihonbashi district of Tokyo, which has flourished as a castle town where merchants and craftsmen have gathered since the Edo period, and there are many shops around our company that are still committed to "manufacturing."
This time, I would like to introduce one of them, "Furakokoro".
Furakoko is a shop that sells handmade Hina dolls and May dolls.
It's actually just two houses away from Komiya Shoten.
Every year at this time, Hina dolls are lined up in the shops, and we feel comforted every time we pass by.
The appeal of Furakoko's dolls is their cute, baby-like faces and their compact size, which suits modern lifestyles.
We actually spoke with the company's president, Mr. Hara, and sales representative Mr. Endo.
We are pleased to hear that many of our staff members are fans of our umbrellas.
Amazingly, it takes more than a year to complete a Hina doll, as each part of it, such as the face, body, fabric, folding screen, flower decorations, and lanterns, is made by a different craftsman, and each skilled craftsman carefully crafts every detail.
Furthermore, Furakokoro performs the final finishing touches in-house on the products completed by the craftsmen.
I was given a special glimpse of this.
Since Furakoko's dolls are sold online, they are made with a focus on quality, with the desire to make customers happy when they receive them.
Although the processes are different, our umbrellas are all made by hand, so both require traditional techniques.
It is also our role to pass on reliable techniques to future generations.
We will continue to work hard every day to provide our customers with "well-made products."
Furakoko will also be opening a shop in mid-October.
When you visit Komiya Shoten, please be sure to take a look at the Hina dolls and May dolls that contain the thoughts and feelings of many people.
