Yesterday it was midsummer hot, but it has been raining since yesterday.
Everyone, please be careful not to let the temperature difference affect your health.
On Saturday, April 21st, a young craftsman demonstrated how to make an umbrella at our shop.
I'll tell you about what happened on the day.

On this day, a young female craftsman was working in the back of the shop.
This female craftsman wanted to tell customers about Komiya Shoten's umbrellas.
He is a skilled craftsman who also takes on sales duties.
The processes they were carrying out were the "top sewn" and "center sewn" steps of the "Genten" folding umbrella.
The opening is the process of sewing the tip of the umbrella fabric to the tip of the umbrella ribs.

Saddle stitching refers to the process of sewing the umbrella ribs and the umbrella fabric together.

Both of these processes determine the shape and quality of the umbrella.
It plays an important role in making umbrellas.
When it is finished, make sure the threads are tied securely.
We check again to make sure the shape has not been damaged and the finished design is good.

It was a nice day for going out, so many customers came to visit us from the morning!
There were even people who made the special effort to come just because it was the day for the artisans' demonstration!
I am truly grateful!
People who watched the craftsmen's demonstrations closely and gave encouraging words,
I want to be a craftsman!
Thank you everyone!
It was a very encouraging day for both our staff and the young craftsmen.
We believe there will be many more opportunities to demonstrate umbrella making in the future, so we hope that both our experienced and young craftsmen will continue to support us!
